Yesterday for the firsttime I downloaded Powerprep 2006 from https://WWW.MBA.COM. I found math section in both the tests from this software harder than Powerprep 3.0 (2005).
Does anybody share the same experience with me? Also I am planning to give GMAT by Mid November, should I be alarmed for finding math section harder in Powerprep 2006?
I appreciate any thoughts.

I am sure you read on the website, but ETS will not longer be administering the GMAT in 2006, Pearson Vue will be. The test you downloaded is Pearson Vue's version of the GMAT, called GMATPrep. I assume that what you saw on the practice test will be like what a test taker will see in 2006, but that is just an assumption. I know some people took a free trial of the test under Pearson Vue over the summer (I think the scores were official). There are a few sticky posts that describe the experience in the "Share your GMAT Experience" Forum. Check it out. IMHO, the Pearson view practice test is harder than the PowerPrep ETS test, but the scoring seems different. I got a 730 (49Q,42V) on the first practice test, but got 15 wrong on the Q and 9 on the V. I can't seem to figure out why it scored my so high with as many question as I got wrong. Also, besides a handful of questions, the GMATPrep questions where different than the PowerPrep or any OG question.
You are taking it November, so your test will be given by ETS. IMHO, I would use the GMATPrep tests just to practice your endurance and learn new concepts in the questions, but I would rely on the scoring so much. Use the PowerPrep to get an idea on how it will be for your test.
