Hi - Took my first practice exam today totally cold (test date May 26th) on catprep (Information at the top of the exam read Vertias question pool #1003.0 - not sure what that meant).
Looking for some help evaluating the following score, particularly around the very low quant result:
Q=27
V=39
AWA: 4/ 5.5
I was planning on spending my time focusing on the quant section, first with some foundational study (never been strong with math) with my book and possibly enlisting the help of a tutor.
I've read that people's scores can move anywhere from 50-150 pts with a solid study program; Any insights into how difficult it is to move one's quant score up significantly?

I wouldn't say it's going to be a piece of cake. If you don't love Math, you might find GMAT Quant questions a little tricky. But the good news is that your current Q score is 27 which is kind of low. Hence, there is tremendous scope of rapid improvement till you touch Q 42.
First ensure that your basic Math skills e.g. how to handle fractions, variables, quadratic equations etc are up-to-date. Use high school books/ Math websites etc for these (many test prep companies have Math essentials books which help you with the basics e.g. Veritas Math Essentials). Thereafter, start your GMAT related Quant review. At this time you can put together a self study program for yourself or take help from a tutor, whatever works best for you. You should see substantial improvement in the next 3 months if you study regularly.
