Hi All,
My test is T-1 months away and I'm trying to formulate a plan of attack for the last month, but I've been having fluctuating test scores, shown below:
GMATPREP #1 - Q42 V44 (710)
CAT #1 - Q45 V45 (740)
CAT #2 - Q37 V40 (640)
GMATPREP #2 - Q47 V32 (640)
The most recent GMATPREP #2 score really threw me off. My verbal's almost never that low. Does anyone have advice when it comes to fluctuating scores like this? I'm obviously writing down and reviewing concepts that I got wrong, but it's frustrating to see this happen twice in a row but in opposite directions.

There are a variety of factors that can influence your performance on a CAT. Before we discuss those details though, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) Have you taken any other CATs besides these 4? If you have, then how have you scored on each of those CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?
Goals:
4) What is your goal score?
5) What is your exact Test Date?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

A low practice test score, though frustrating, is a great source of takeaways! It just means that during the test, you did hit quite a few gaps in your preparation, and identifying those is quite useful! Review the weaknesses you identify and take another practice test soon.
