I took the GMAT stone cold (i.e. no study) on October 12 and scored 680: 45Q, 38 V, 6.0 AWA and 8 IR. However, I slept 3 hours that night and drove 3 hours to my test centre to write at 9:00am... not the best testing strategy. At the time I was thinking of doing an online MBA so I was okay with the 680. However, in the last couple of months I decided to apply to some full-time programmes so I took some practice CATs after that and I didn't score below 700 on any of them. I took my first practice CAT in about two months today and got a 730: 47Q, 42V, 7 IR. I didn't touch any study books or do any practice other than the CATs so I'm not at all disappointed by the 730 but of course I would like to get the best score that I can.
I would like to rewrite before the end of the year, so I have a few days in which I could study. I do not celebrate any holidays but I have taken a few weeks off work to do all my essay writing and test taking. I haven't been able to get the Quant above 47 in any of my tests. The Q score is pretty much frozen at 47 while the V score ranges from 39 to 43. I am free and willing to work on my MBA application stuff for the entirety of the next three weeks. Considering I don't have any particular weaknesses on any of my tests, I'm thinking that I am better off focusing on writing essays and perfecting my application rather than trying to choke extra points out of my usual score range of 710-740. (My target schools are Yale, Fuqua, Goizueta and Kelley) Is this the right approach or should I put in a bit of work on my Q score (I have limited undergrad quant credentials) so that I don't look like the only Asian who can't do maths? Thanks for your input!

LOL. Perhaps you want to differentiate yourself as a math-weak Asian?
Yes, you are much better off investing your time into the Applications (essays, and working with your recommenders, resume, etc) than trying to inch your score from 47 to 50.
Even your current score could be good enough, though a 700+ always looks nicer on paper.
The key will be cracking the applications and I hope you can survive the pressure of trying to fit them all in a pretty short amount of time you have left. It will be pretty difficult to try to fit in that many schools. Most do not recommend applying to more than 1 school a month and everyone says how much it wipes them out to write the applications....
I think what I am trying to say is, the GMAT is the easy part at this point.
