Hi everyone, I am planning on starting my studies for a GMAT. I graduated from college 12 years ago so am a little late to the party but feel I need to shake things up career wise so am thinking of going back for an MBA. I purchased the 2018 OG and all the MGMAT study guides. I plan on taking the test in mid to late August so have about 13-14 weeks to study. I was always stronger at math than verbal back in school. Wondering what my best course of action is. I was thinking of using one of the 2 free official practice tests on Monday to gauge where I am at, but what should I do from there? Do I focus on the section I am better at or worse at first? Between the 2 free practice tests and the 6 I receive with my purchase of the MGMAT guides, I have 8 tests, was thinking of taking a practice test about once every 2 weeks up until the time of my actual GMAT.
I was looking at BB study plan, 2016 edition, but was wondering if anyone has any more input on how I should approach these next 3 months?
Any help would be appreciated

Just took my first practice test, took a full length MGMAT CAT....scored a 560

I feel I have a ton left to improve, especially on Quantitative, MGMAT says I scored 25th percentile. I have all the MGMAT study guides and also have the Foundations of Math book.
Verbal it says 71%, I did finish the verbal section 20 minutes early so I bet I could do better if I took more time
Also did terrible on IR, only got 2 right
I am giving myself at least 3 months

First off, Welcome to GMATClub.
A Q33 can easily be improved to Q49 with some sincere efforts. Since you already have the
Manhattan Strategy guides, you could start by building on your concepts from these books.
Alternatively, you could go through the concepts from the Quantitative Mega-thread.
Once the concepts are clear, practice problems on the forum. Try to understand if you
are able to apply the learning to the problems. Every time you are not able to solve a
question go through the thread(where this question has been discussed) and try to
learn from the various methods given. You may come across a method or two which
might help you save some time in the test.
For Quant practice, you could use the below-given links

You could look at this plan for Verbal

I would recommend you to buy the GMATPrep official bundle(4 tests and a question
pack). These tests will give you a realistic picture of your progress. Take one of these
tests every month to understand if your preparation is on the right track.

and go through the mistakes you make from time to time. This retrospection will help
you improve your scores.

To start, a 560 is a solid performance for an initial CAT (the average score on the Official GMAT hovers around 540-550 most years). You've also given yourself plenty of time to study - which is good. That having been said, if your Score Goal is in the high-600s or 700s, then you will have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections.
After taking each CAT, it's important to do a full review of your performance (with the goal of defining WHY you got questions wrong). While a full Mistake Tracker would provide more detail, there are some basic questions that you should look to answer after you take each CAT (and the more specific you can be with your answers, the better).
After reviewing each section of this CAT, how many questions did you get wrong....
1) Because of a silly/little mistake?
2) Because there was some math/verbal that you just could not remember how to do?
3) Because the question was too hard?
4) Because you were low on time and had to guess?
5) In the Verbal section, how many questions did you "narrow down to 2 choices" but still get wrong?
Based on your timeframe, is it safe to assume that you would like to apply to Business School later this year?
