Grammar for Dummies is a mistake. Though most of English Grammar is fair game on the GMAT, there are only a handful of grammar issues that are actually tested with any frequency. Furthermore, there are a number of common warning signs that certain types of grammar might be at issue; Grammar for Dummies won't help you there.

Check out the book thread for better recommendations; no surprise, a lot of Kaplan materials are on the recommended list, and our workbooks and guides can really help you out!

There seems to be a lot of books to choose from. What are a group of books that would be sufficient enough to achieve a high score? Is there any study guide that lays out which books to read and do practice with? I found the recommended books link but that just seems to be a big collect of all kinds of books to use.
