^^From what I've seen, various companies/sources offer both sides of the arguemnt, but on the Official test, which side is correct: That the present perfect is needed to signify the 2 events, or that since the timeframe is deduced, one is earlier than the other and the present perfect is not needed since it's already implied. Was wondering the definate route on the official exam.
