I'm surprised that the RC were repeats as I did not get any repeat in my 2005 CD. You may want to refresh your probability/combination skill. Did you go through this Probability guide from the math forum?

I would say that other than the problem I previously mentioned, the other probability/combination problems from that PR CD2005 are not difficult provided that you know the basics.

mbahope, I was very thrilled to see your post! I had the same experience with the PR 2005 online cat. I got 3 probability questions early on and I got only one right. I felt so lousy but I thought it was also because I have not prepared for probability in depth yet and dont remember more than the bare basics!

Paul, I got the question you mentioned too. However I did not have any repeats in RC section.

I missed a relatively very easier one, but i tend to blame it on the wording of the problem.

Here it goes:
A racing dog ran 40 races before retiring at age 4. How many races did he win?

(1) He won his first 30 races, all run before the age of 4.
(2) He lost 25 percent of his races before age 4, won none of his last 10 races, and won 75 percent of his races overall.

In this question, do you guys think the question asked has a good wording? It does not clarify as to till what point in the dog's life they want to know how many races did the dog win.
Do we have to assume that they are asking abt races won before retirement? (I know some of you will shout "ofcourse!")
Shouldnt the question read "How many races did he win till he retired?"
Or, am i overanalyzing a simple question?

Whenever i assume such simple things in DS wrod problems like games won, races won, etc, it turns out normally that I should not have assumed anything though it seemed like commonsense. When i get smart and start not assuming such simple things, they dont like my answers either!
What the hell is going on with me!?

Paul,
Thanks a lot for the probabiity guide.
I have alredy used it and found it very hlpful.
I'm going to post one more permutations/ combinations question that i thot was a toughie (ESP. UNDER exam conditions).

I definitely need more practice for probability, permut & comb questions.
The PR test was an eye opener.
