I've just taken the first of the two online CATs that come with the "Cracking the GMAT 2007" book.
The math problems were generally harder than OG problems (yes, OG probs are easy...but still...) and I don't know how verbal problems compare since the actual test CR has a type where u are asked to find the relationship between two boldfaced phrases.
Sadly, I got 48 in math (30 correct 7 wrong) and 39 in verbal (37 correct 4 wrong
) for a total score of 700.
I was surpirsed that I could get 48 in math given that I got 7 wrong (which is many since to get 51 u have to get only 2~3 wrong) and was even more surprised that I could get ONLY 39 (not 49) with only 4 wrong.
How is this possible?? If 4 wrong gives u 39, how on earth do u get 44+ in verbal?
700 is a good score, but seeing how the scores are calculated, I cannot stop doubting its credibility.
Wouldn't 37/41 be more like 45 and thus give me something like 760?
I wish I could do the same in verbal on the real thing!!! (except the score 39!)

Since it is computer adaptive, the number of questions right/wrong does not determine your score. Do some more research and you will learn this and also learn that try as they may, no CAT correctly replicates the actual GMAT as the GMATPrep does.
