I took my first practice test last week. It was the GMATprep software. I scored a 710 (48 math, 41 verbal). I just took my first princeston review test today and scored a 640 (43 math, 35 verbal). Basically my question is what gives? On the GMAT prep I got 11 math questions wrong (including the first question!) on Princeston I only got 5 math questions wrong. It felt like the GMAT prep software would vary the difficulty of the questions a lot more to dial in on where you should be, princeston the questions just stayed easy even as I was getting them all right. What are peoples thoughts on this? Which score should I view as representative? Are the princeston tests a little different, so after doing them a few times, my score should move up?
What are peoples thoughts.
Thanks,
Andrew
If there's one thing I've learned, nothing and I mean NOTHING is comparable to the GEMATPrep. I took the PR recently and scored a 690. But I finished both sections in under 2 hours and only had about 12 wrong total. I think the PR questions are easier, but the scoring is tough. Conversely, I recently took a
manhattan gmat exam and it kicked my butt (620). The questions are very tough, but the scoring is fairer. My most recent GMATPrep score is 700 and was both tough but fair.
So again, I truly believe nothing comes close to emulating the real GMAT as the GMATPrep does.
