Hi,
I have a professional background in Infrastructure M&A and Real Estate Asset management. I want to join Private Equity after post MBA. Should I put my goals as joining private equity focusing on real estate or infrastructure? Does including both make goals too vague or just putting one will make it niche? I am interested in both.

Hi Vivishere,
This is a good question. It is important that your post-MBA goals are both realistic and specific. It would be good to choose one of those areas, but it would be fine to mention the other as well, as an alternative, since they are related. Plus, as you said, you don't want to have too specific of a goal. Additionally though, and very importantly, if your background is not in private equity, then an immediate post-MBA goal of private equity may not sound realistic to an admissions committee. You may want to adjust your goals to make sure that the school is confident that you will be hired in your target post-MBA role.

I think I have made a mistake while filling the application form at Kellogg. I have highlighted my both the sectors in my essays. But in the Post MBA industry drop down I have selected Real Estate. I want to select Financial Services as i want to be considered for Finance Fellows scholarship. Is there a way to change it after submitting the application.
