Thank you for your help Rich. This is going to be embarrassing, I feel so frustrated with this test, I am highly competitive at what I do (this the reason why I will not let this to take me down), and I was a top Architecture student. It is just horrible the Gmat makes me feel like if I were mentally disable. Allow me to respond to your questions:
1.- It is from a practice CAT.
Manhattan Gmat Practice Test
2.- Quant - Score: 35 or Estimated Percentile: 33 %
Verbal - Score: 20 or Estimated Percentile: 22 %
3.- I have studied (seriously and committed) for 2 months and a half. I would say 2 hours a day and 3 to 4 during Weekends. I studied before but not too seriously, so I don't count that time; it was 3 months
4.- I took the
Manhattan Gmat Course while I was working in Seattle, but now I am in Dubai, UAE. That is why I am looking for a tutor by Skype.
5.- I am planning to take my first Gmat in 3 Months. (Mid May or End of May, but I am not booking the test until I have a tutor) I was about to take the actual Gmat test by December but then I didn't do it because, honestly , I didn't feel prepared and I was not going take the test just to fail.
At this point if you look at my practice test you can tell what are the main issues. In Quant the issues are:
1.- There are some content that I have never ever seen, that is why I am using
Manhattan Gmat. In some topics I am super good, in some I am really bad, so some questions in some topics I can answer on the 700 level and some of them on a 500 level are hard for me, makes no sense to me. I know the answer for this is study, study!
2.- Timing. When a 700 - 800 question pops up, sometimes I get obsessed with the idea to answer it right, I can't move on, then I am panicked and then I blame myself for not studying hard (all of that happens in one question); I have even seen in my practice test that I spent sometimes 11 minutes in one question . For example if you look at my last practice test, in quant my question 13th I should have been on minute 26:00 I was in minute 40. You can tell there is a huge issue in timing. I know the answer to this is be faster!
3.- I tend to master a topic in week, next one I forget it. I am using Flashcards now to remind me of stuff I already saw. Flashcards are a blessing!
I appreciate any help you can provide. I am trying to be really honest because I want to improve and I know some people are already in the 600s level, but I am one of those that is struggling trying to get a good score. I know this is a fight and I will fight for this!
Best regards,
Ricardo Carrillo
