Private tutor strategy

Question

Anyone have any ideas on how to utilize private tutoring?

My weak link is SC... Do I go over the probelms I got wrong with the tutor, or do I let him teach me his tips and tricks first........

I have around 10 hours scheduled.. I am not sure exactly how I will utilize him so as to get the maximum benefit...

Any ideas?

I think transparency is the best way to go about this. When I taught this subject, I typically wanted to make sure that the students had a certain base level of technique (and unlearned weak techniques they had acquired) before we started attacking actual problems. However, your instructor should be willing to discuss with you how long this initial training should take. Be cautious if s/he gives a very vague answer or refuses to give even a ballpark figure for the initial training.

thanks a lot for your reply..
problem is i already have the tutor for 10 hours.. it was by veritas.. 
he never mentioned how many hours of tutoring will it take for me to learn the sentence correction..
we are solving the problems from the veritas book.. as i get the answer right.... i always check up with him how he came up with the answer to get the same thought process...

I think I'm confused here- Your tutor did not begin with a technique-teaching portion?

Do you feel that you are gaining traction on Sentence Correction problems?

no.. he knew that i had given the exam.. so do you think going through the techniques will help? i think the problem with me is applying all these theories in the sentence correction problems.. generally i know the error to look for.. but i create a new error, or i miss another error with the error i was trying to fix..

i will ask him if he can go through a technique training hour or something... he gave me a book called "Woe is I".. its a pretty good book to read.. 

i think i am worried of actually applying the techniques..

can you let me know what would you expect from a 1 hour technique training session?
