Hi,
I need some help to provide a solution for the below question.
Q1. A baker of chocolate cookies has noted over the years that if she puts 1,000µ chips into a batch of dough which is used to produce 1,000 cookies, then the number of chips per cookie has a Poisson distribution with a mean of µ chips in each cookie. If µ = 7, what is the probability that a randomly chosen cookie has fewer than 5 chocolate chips in it? The bakers’ ad claims that at least 90% of her cookies contain 5 or more chocolate chips. Will 7,000 chips per batch of dough enable her to sustain this claim?

Correct me if I am wrong guys, but I REALLY don't think Poisson Distribution is even in the syllabus for the GMAT. Only standard deviation is. Where are you getting these questions from? You should really do a bit of background search before posting!
when I saw the Poisson distribution - the GMAT would never assume you'd know the formula for that.
