Hi,
I have problem with time management during test.
When I take the full format test, I tend to concentrate too hard and spend lots of time on problem that I cannot solve.
Due to which I get stuck on a particular problem for long time (sometimes even 6-7 mins), without even realizing it.
I dont know its cause of ego or cause of fatigue.
On the contrary, at times when I get in flow and start answering question quickly, I tend to become extra cautious after some questions and spend time to cross check my answer.
In either case I lose lots of time and fall short of time. I took practice GMAT twice, both time I had no time to answer around 8-10 Questions in both section.
This problem of mine persists since I use to take practice tests for IIM CAT (Indian Test).
No matter how hard I try, I cant overcome this drawback.
Have any one of you faced same issues ?

I was in the same position with you before especially with the quant section
One suggestion that I get is that even the people who score 700+ has to guess the answer for some questions. That put myself to try strict with the time limit that I set to answer the questions (2 mins for quant and around 1,5 minutes for verbal)
Try to do that in a lot of practice test and you will be much better in managing your time

Yeah, the first step is accepting that you will not be able to solve all questions.
Once you've accepted that, you need to develop a skill of being able to determine what questions are worth your time and what questions aren't.
After 30 seconds (or some amount of time you feel is appropriate), you should have an idea of how to tackle a problem. If you don't have any idea, your best bet is probably to eliminate certain answer choices, take a guess, and move on.
After 90 or 120 seconds (or some amount of time you feel is appropriate), if you thought you knew how to approach it and are struggling, or if your approach is taking longer than you thought, you need to evaluate whether it's worthwhile to continue on the problem, or guess and move on.
Don't spend a lot of time on your evaluation, and with practice you'll get better at knowing which answers to chase down, and which to let go.
