Hi,
I just took my second GMAT online test today and had the WORST experience possible. I came back from my break after the verbal section with about 1 minute left on the break. Plenty of time to do a quick scan of the room and show the whiteboard. I keep asking "is there anyone there?" but the proctor takes about 90 seconds to respond. I'm already -30 seconds on the quant part. I tell the proctor that her response took a very long time and now I have lost time because of it. I ask her how she will fix this. She begins claiming that she was only a few seconds late and after some arguing, she says that I will not have any time reduction on the quant part. However, when I begin my quant part of the exam it's beginning at 59-60 minutes instead of 62. I am extremely frustrated during the entire exam.
After the quant part I wanted to take a break. The proctor tells me to click on "begin break". I do so, but after 5-10 seconds nothing happens. So I click begin break again. Suddenly I am inside the integrated reasoning part (the clicks were delayed and ended up being a double-click). I ask the proctor what is going on and tell her that I want to go on my break. She tells me that she will fix it and just asks me to wait a few seconds. Over 3 minutes goes by. Then she paused my exam and told me that I could go on a break but only for a couple of minutes. Again I tell her that I have lost several minutes of time because of her delayed actions. She refuses to do anything about it. I did not only get a 2 minute break instead of a 8 minute break but I also lost 3-4 minutes on the IR part.
I called Examity directly after the exam and spoke to them for 40-50 minutes. They told me that they watched the recording and confirmed that there was a delay from the proctor during the quant part and the integrated reasoning part. I told them that I want the score to be cancelled and that I want to retake the exam with another proctor where delays from the proctor do not decrease my score. I was told that they cannot cancel the score or reschedule the exam but that the proctor would be dealt with. I told them that this does not help me at all and asked for a confirmation by email that the proctor caused me to lose several minutes on the quant and the IR part. However, they had a policy that prevented them from confirming anything by email but the video would be sent to GMAC.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation and if so, what was the outcome?
How should I proceed to get the opportunity to retake the exam?
Thank you in advance!
