I am sorry about your frustration and recent results. Thankfully, as you note, you still have several schools available to you for R2 and there's still time. It sounds like how you advertised yourself and how you composed your essays could be a major factor. All of the other things like company brand, age, undergraduate performance, etc. can be folded into a larger strategy.
