Thank you so much for you time. I'm planning on applying in Round 1 this year to business schools and really want to know if I have any kind of chance to get into some of the top programs. I am currently in Oil And Gas industry and want to Join a top MBA program in USA Or in Europe . I would like to shift to Consulting / Tech .. Moreover I am really intersted in entrepreneurship as s a long term goal , Should I worry about my age ?
Age/gender/etc: 34 at matriculation, Male , Egyptian .
Undergraduate: State school, 3.5. BSC in petroleum engineering ranked 12th of 97 student.
Graduate Degree: State school, 3.2 MSC in Petroleum Engineering.
Experience : Work for a Joint venture with Shell for 10 years . Managed different roles and job functions . Promoted 3 times during this period . have managed several projects. I'm not sure how much more detail I need to provide about my projects/wins
GMAT: 710, 49Q 37V 4IR
Extras: member of SPE ( Society of Petroleum Engineers at Company), have provided several technical sessions / training for younger engineers , contact other professional to provide an in depth view of how the industry works .Support undergrad Students in their graduation projects .
Worked with a lot of charity organizations in Egypt .
Future goals: move to consulting space with more of an emphasis on Tech / industry and Entrepreneurship.
Schools on my list: ( I think these might be a stretch)
Harvard , Stanford , Wharton , INSEAD , LBS , MIT
What are my chances and what schools should I consider as well .
Note . GMAT Scores are extremely low in Egypt , only 3 % Score more than 700 in last couple of years ( GMAT demographics report 2018 )
Another thing , will age affect my recruitment opportunities post MBA ?

To be entirely frank, the schools on your list are going to be a stretch for your scores, age and overall profile.
On the GMAT, even if you are in the top 3% in Egypt, it does not matter because the admissions committee don't view GMAT score by geography. They are standardized test scores because they are standardized!
Your age is not a disqualifier, but there's a difference in representation between those who are entering at 30/31 and those who are 34/35. You should really be looking at the Executive MBA programs. Those would make way more sense and you'd have a much better shot of securing admission.
Yes, age might also affect recruitment. If you want to go into consulting (which, by the way, is not a great career goal to talk about in your application due to its popularity) as an associate. You would be oddily managed by people who are significantly younger than you with far less executive and managerial experience. I suppose it's not technically a disqualifier at the big firms, but it may make things awkward in terms of fit. That's more for you to consider as part of your overall professional ambitions.
