Hey TheRealAyanokoji,

As a senior at a top-15 undergraduate institution with ambitions to pursue an MBA from HSW/M7 business schools, you've certainly set your sights high. Your academic performance, with a GPA of 3.66, is solid and your GRE score of 328 demonstrates aptitude.

Your internships showcase a diverse range of experiences, from tech consulting to entertainment, as well as exposure to finance, consulting, and startups through boutique firms. This breadth could provide valuable insights and perspectives in your MBA journey.

Your leadership roles, particularly as a Co-Founder of a professional mentorship club and VP of a business fraternity, illustrate your ability to initiate and lead impactful initiatives. Additionally, your involvement as a PM at a consulting club and Finance Director for Cultural Clubs highlights your versatility and organizational skills.

Your commitment to volunteering, especially in pro-bono consulting for non-profits and tutoring D1 athletes, showcases a dedication to service and community engagement.

Regarding your mixed ORM/URM status, it's understandable to have uncertainties, but admissions committees value diversity in all its forms, including racial and ethnic backgrounds. Your unique background could be a strength in your application.

Considering your profile, while there are many factors that contribute to admission decisions beyond what's listed here, you certainly have a competitive foundation. To get a more detailed analysis of your profile and your chances of admission, I recommend signing up for a free profile evaluation call with us. We can provide personalized insights and guidance to help you navigate the admissions process effectively.

TheRealAyanokoji:

There's nothing in your profile that suggests you won't get at least a fair look. Deferred MBA programs are so tricky because they admit so few people and since they don't evaluate candidates with work experience there's less variety in their profiles to separate them.

Generally speaking, if you have the time, energy and funds to apply (and are qualified) you should. Just have a backup plan should you not get into any programs or are only admitted to some of the lower-ranked ones that may not be ultimately as appealing to you.
