Hi
tanmayeb, thanks for reaching out to us at
mbaMission with your profile.
Yes, you hit the nail on the head that your profile looks strong aside from the GPA. But the upward trend is hugely helpful, as is the excellent GMAT score. That is the best strategy for mitigating a low GPA. Otherwise, have your LOR writers highlight qualities like your maturity now, work ethic, dedication, etc. Otherwise, you could take an additional course or two before you apply, to make up for a low grade on your transcript, but a high GMAT should do most of the work and I would only do that if you have extra time.
The startup + data focused experience should position you well. And I like that you have a track record of extracurricular involvement too.
HBS will be a longshot, they tend to value high GPAs especially. CBS could be tough too, and hopefully your Northwestern ties give you a bit of a boost at Kellogg. Otherwise it seems like you have a good list with a range of schools. In terms of other schools to add, depends on what post-MBA goals you're targeting and whether you have any strong location preferences, but potentially look at Duke Fuqua?
Hope that helps, and good luck!
