I am planning on applying for business school in 2-3 years. Just wanted some direction, areas of improvement, advice until then. Also, any target schools I should be looking at would be helpful (top 15 if possible). I plan to stay in finance/asset management after B school. Here's my general profile.
Undergrad: Univ Southern California (2006)
Major: Business (Finance)
GPA: 3.36
Current Age: 24
Work Experience
Currently working for a money manager as an Associate Securities Analyst. Was hired in 2006 as a Portfolio Manager Assistant. Was promoted to current position in the research dept where I assist senior analysts in researching companies. Likely will be promoted 1-2 more times in next 2-3 years. Just took LIII of the CFA.
Outside Activities:
In college, traveled throughout New Zealand with international students to do volunteer conservation work and travel for 5 weeks.
Played rugby in college and currently playing for a top club team
Traveled to countries in south/central america, kenya, australia, new zealand.
Speak conversational spanish.
I haven't been able to do much outside of work due to rugby and studying for the CFA the past 2 years. I plan to get involved with a volunteer org (working with children possibly) to show/work on leadership ability.
Will take the GMAT when I become more certain about attending grad school. Shooting for 700+ like everyone else. Thanks for your input.
