I am a 26 year old (27 in Jan) Pakistani American. Interested in applying to NYU, Cornell and Chicago Booth (all part time) or HBS full time. Undergraduate GPA of 2.9 but major GPA (accounting) was close to a 3.5. Plan on taking GMAT at Sep - assuming I get a 700. What are my chances?
Started career at Big Four accounting. Was promoted and then laid off like a lot of people. Took a few months and finally landed a position at a smaller accounting firm. Recently joined a Fortune 500 company doing financial analysis. I plan on using my lay-off to my strengths and do a lot of EC outside of work. Co founder of a networking group - have been voluntering at weekly prayers since 2006 - board member of another local organzation. Also volunteered at my high during lay off and taught accounting. Plan on running Boston Marathon to raise funds for Earthquake victims in south east asia (this isn't a done deal)...I could also probably come up with more activities that aren't major but have been invovled with him recently or in the past - just not on a regular basis.
O I am also an amateur musician - recently started taking classical lessons too and know a lot of folks around my area and have been involved with a bunch of things. A pure passion of mine.
I know this is such limited data but any ideas? Really interested in NYU part time weekend program as this is my top choice.
