Hi GMAT Club community!
I am planning on applying to my target list of B-Schools Round 2 (full time programs) this year. My profile is as follows:
Gender: Male
Age: 28 years
Location: United States (living in major city in Mid-Atlantic, from the Northeast)
Target schools: Georgetown, Emory, USC, UCLA, Cornell, CMU, Vanderbilt, Mendoza
Work experience: ~5 years
Work as a senior manager (i.e., consultant) at a top 3 global real estate services firm (i.e., CBRE, JLL, Cushman & Wakefield) managing global portfolio accounts, including strategy, financial analysis and transactions. I have held four different roles across 2 companies. I have a vast amount of experience leading projects and teams, albeit only in the real estate space.
Goal: Transition into M&A consulting for a b4 firm.
Education: Dual Major - Political Science & English from a top 35 Liberal Arts College
Very active in college (i.e., student government, teaching assistant, etc).
GPA: Magna Cum Laude (GPA: 3.74) with election to honors societies
Extra curriculars: I received a company award for embodiment of company principles
I am active in the rising leader organization within my company
Previously the chapter head for an organization within my previous company
Volunteers monthly at a food bank / community kitchen making meals
Enjoy carpentry (specifically making wooden surf boards), skiing, listening to NPR and beer making
GMAT score: 690 (V36 Q48 IR5)
Can you please let me know how my candidacy stacks up or if there are any schools that I should remove or add?

Your profile looks good on the surface. Coming to the stats, you have a decent GMAT score, as well as GPA. However, any additional academic accolade will strengthen your application.
On the work front, 5 years of experience establishes your professional profile. Working as a senior manager at a top global real estate services firm and managing global portfolio accounts, including strategy, financial analysis and transactions displays your professional determination and your managerial skills. You will need to highlight the roles and responsibilities you have undertaken and the impact it has brought. Talking about the projects you led will help you demonstrate the leadership qualities of yours. We would also like to know about your global exposure since it plays an important role in your profile.
Coming to the ECs, they seem quite interesting. ECs play a major role in your application and can prove to play a major role in your admission process. Since you have mentioned social activities (food bank/ community kitchen), try highlighting your major learnings from it. Associating yourself with social activities demonstrates your social responsibilities to the AdComs. About your carpentry, skiing and beer crafting, they add diversity to your profile. For instance, I suggest you go through our article on Significance of ECAs for MBA Application, to understand the importance of drafting exemplary ECAs essays!
Your Post MBA goals make sense and are in alignment with your prior work experience. It’s important to divide your goals between short term and long term. A piece of advice on your post-MBA goals: divide them into short-term and long-term goals. Even if you are not directly asked to do so, it is good to consider how you may connect your goals to your previous experience and successes. So, think about your short-term and long-term goals carefully. Consider reading an article on how to frame practical post MBA goals essay, You will get some insights!
Overall you have a robust profile and stand a good chance at Cornell, UCS, UCLA and Emory, but we would like to know more in depth to understand it fully. If properly worked upon, your profile stands a high chance of acceptance.
