I am keen on pursuing a research career in the field of Strategy / Entrepreneurship
I have close to 10 years of work experience in strategy consulting / corporate strategy; however, I do not have any academic research/ formal teaching experience.
GMAT Score: 690 (V38, Q47) - can retake
2011 : MBA - Strategy & Finance - 3.1 CGPA [Top 5 College in India]
2007: Undergrad - BTech- Computer Sc. 83% [Top 10 College in India]
2019: Additional executive education programs from Said School of Business, Oxford
Work Experience - 10+ years ; Consulting (strategy, organization design), Corporate Strategy (Technology sector - MNC based out of India)
Plan to apply to programs in Canada (Rotman, University of BC), Europe (HEC, LBS, INSEAD) and US (outside of Top 10)
I am yet to firm up an exact area of research but would be keen to explore a topic in the area of non-market strategy.
I can get Reccos from senior folks in my organization (Global Strategy Head)
Which aspects do I focus on to improve my profile ?

Which programs are you targeting? Are you looking at full-time MBA, EMBA, PhD or something else? It's not entirely clear based on your background. In terms of generic improvement:
(1) A higher GMAT score would be helpful. Scoring 30-40 points higher would really help elevate your profile.
(2) Defining your career goals and field of study is going to be important. You do not have to do that now, but somewhat soon since you want to make sure you have a strong foundation in that area of interest for when you do apply. It is going to be harder if it looks like you came up with this idea last second or that it's a radical shift in focus from your wealth of experience.
(3) What do your extracurricular activities look like? Are you involved in anything outside of work that would demonstrate leadership and commitment? If this is a sub-par category for you, you may want to think about ramping this up prior to applying.

I’m looking to apply to PhD courses at these colleges.
Extra curricular is not a strong area as of today and achievements there are quite dated now.
Leadership etc. I’ll be able to demonstrate through Workplace achievements (promotions / awards )
