Hey Guys/Gals,
About me: 26 Yrs, Male, Caucasian
1) WE: 4 years with an investment management/institutional investment consulting boutique in the Southeast. My work focuses on capital market, equity, and fixed income research as well as private company valuation. I have received several promotions during my tenure at the firm and would receive excellent recommendations from all of my superiors and peers.
2) GMAT: 720 (Q48, V42, 6.0)
3) Ugrad: Top 100 private university. 3.35 BBA, Finance (4.0 in my major). Originally, I was a pre-medical/comp-sci major which wreaked havoc on my GPA as a freshman and sophomore. I was able to resurrect my GPA once I discovered my passion for finance. There is definitely a strong linear trend to my GPA if that means anything.
4) ECs
College: Fraternity: New member educator, Treasurer, Athletics Chair(x3), Secretary(x2). IFC Philanthropy Committee. Student Investment Fund.
Post-College: Local children's sports charity. Atlanta Track Club.
5) CFA
6) Stretches: Darden, Duke
Reaches: Emory, UNC
7) Post MBA: My long-term goal would be to remain in the financial industry and work for a mutual fund or hedge fund. I would like to go to a school that has relatively good recruiting out of the Southeast as I would like to remain in my current location.
Thanks
I agree. Shoot higher. You have a very competitive profile for the schools you mentioned.
