You aren't really a candidate for the 1-year MBA programs. Those are really for either more experienced candidates or those with significant business backgrounds. You don't NOT qualify, but you might not find much success in the admissions process if you go down the route. You might want to consider the 2-year MBA program. That will also make things easier if you are very focused on landing a product-based role.

As for the MS in Analytics, that will be easier than either MBA program. The bar is not nearly as high for admission. That being said, I'm not sure it will help you all that much in terms of getting that product-based role. It's just not quite the same well-rounded experience as the MBA.

As for your profile, you have nicely balanced background. Make sure you ace your essays and letters of recommendation if you are applying soon/this year as those will be the last components within your control

If you'd like to chat with one of my consultants, don't hesitate to reach out via free consultation using the link below:

Hey, so I tried searching for alums from analytics programs(Columbia/NYU) on linkedin and saw some made to pm roles, is that something you think as possible?
also, which MBA programs would you suggest?
Preference: EU -> Singapore ->US/Australia

Hi ashimakumari,

Thank you for sharing your profile. Your GRE score is good, but I will suggest trying to increase your score it will maximize your chances. You have handled some projects independently at work, which can help you exhibit your leadership potential. Furthermore, you have dealt with many stakeholders of an organization, which must have given you a highly diversified perspective into how an organization works and interacts with its stakeholders. Regarding your ECs, attempt to put anything forward that will make a compelling argument about how they have positively shaped you as a person.

I agree with the prior post that you should pursue a two-year MBA program. Internships and other extracurricular activities in a two-year MBA program help applicants explore several career paths before committing to full-time recruiting. Also, a two-year program provides significantly greater networking opportunities both within the campus and outside. Overall you have a good profile. However, I would like to know more about your work experience to analyze it better. If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week to discuss your profile in length and further chances to the b-schools. Feel free to book a free session with us as per your convenience.

Maximize your chances for top MBA programs in January intake

Cheers!

Hey,

Could you please evaluate my profile?

GRE-316,
India Female
Work ex - 3 years and full stack developer, then shifted to BA role(`~ 6 months) - leading projects single-handedly with stakeholders from UK, HK and India in one of the leading banks across the globe. No gap
Undergrad - Btech, CS - 72.5%
12 & 11th - 88%

Extra curricular : Part of employee engagement(~20k employees) for this year, lead various clubs and fests as Core member in college, won various competitions in college and school

Future goal - product management/management consulting

I am looking for 1 year MBA program or MS Analytics program, hoping that it can help me in landing product-based roles. Could you please evaluate my profile for the same? Looking for Fall'22 intake

Hi Ashima,

IESE will be a good program to apply to given your GRE (which is low for the US-based programs) and career interest in technology.
Another program suitable for you can be NTU in Singapore (check how your GRE stands there)

Hi ashimakumari,

Cool, cool! Programs considering your GRE are UNC, Kelly, McCombs, and many more you can check the list here. Your overall profile also determines your chances; if your profile is strong enough and you write good essays, you can compensate for the GRE, and we can shortlist perfect schools for you. We are happy to discuss your profile in length. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Cheers!
