Hi friends,

I recently took GMAT and scored a low 620(Q-58%ile and Verbal65%ile).

I am a 29yrs old, Indian female with background in Biological Sciences Research. I have a Masters degree in Biotechnology from a US university (3.5 GPA) and also almost 5 years of work experience with biotech/pharma start-ups in Silicon Valley.
My dream school is Haas. But with my low GMAT score, that looks like an improbable scenario now.

However, I am wondering if the Masters degree and background in biotech will differentiate me in any way and should I still apply to Haas with GMAT 620? Please suggest

I live in Bay Area and am planning to apply to MBA schools in Bay Area (California) only.

Your GMAT is too low for a Haas application. So best would be to retake and think about applying next year.

Thanks for your reply, Jon. I agree with you, I will take the GMAT again. What do you think is the minimum GMAT score that one should have to be considered seriously at Haas?

Well it depends a bit on what other things you have, but given Haas' GMAT average, I'd say a 670 would be an absolute minimum (and a 710 would be nice)

I really wish you lots of luck on your exam. And don't rush things! If you do them right, you may be pleasantly surprised at the end of this long voyage.
