Hi,

1) Demographic Info: 25, Male, Pakistani American

2) Educational Background:
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering for the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, 2.9 GPA
- 750 in GMAT (i forget the breakdown)


3) 4 years work experience in an industrial management role at a leading steel company. Head a unit with 3 technical employees reporting to me, and have been lead on multiple engineering projects.

Undergrad internships with Citigroup (corporate banking) and Nestle (supply chain management).

On the side: Currently providing technical (equipment reliability) advice to a large textile mill in Pakistan long distance (Would it be benficial to register some sort of consulting company to show on my apps? I'm doing this for free in an effort to build a reputation and market knowledge in Pakistan.).

4) No extra curriculars.

5) Career Goals: Set up an industrial consulting company in Pakistan. Maybe gain some consulting experience in the US first.

6) Currently considering Kellogg, Ross, Columbia and Stern, but I realize that these are probably above my reach.

Your 2.9 is a bit low for the 4 schools you mentioned. Is there any way you can build up an alternative transcript with some quant courses on there (and ace them)? Your 750 will help you a lot but won't completely erase your GPA. If you don't have the time, then don't worry about it. If you're aiming for consulting (at least in the US first), I'd just choose one between Columbia and Stern. These two schools are very similar in their strongpoints, as well as their location to NYC. You have a wild shot at Kellogg, but I think you'll be somewhat better in the Ross, Darden, Fuqua range.
