Hi All
Needed your help for a quick profile evaluation. Here's a brief:
27/F: Graduated from one of the IITs in India (GPA- 7/10)
Worked at a European investment bank for two years in structuring; spent nearly a year in New York and London (rest in India)
Have been working with one of the young but leading e-commerce companies in India for the last one year, independently driving a business unit and leading a team of 8.
Yet to take the GMAT.
Goal is to work in the luxury retail (such as LVMH, PPR, Chanel House, Conde Naste)
Target schools:
Harvard, Columbia, Kellog, Stanford, Sloan, INSEAD
Could you please help?
Many thanks
M
Hello,
Chances to any school depend on multiple factors including GMAT, so first I would suggest you to take GMAT and aim at score such as 730+, because almost all IITian (who will again be running with you to get into top schools) score in the range of 730+.
Then comes your essays, all students applying at top b-schools are smart, now the task of adcom is to choose the smarter and the smartest. You have to have strong stories to share in terms of career trajectory.
You can stand out with some leadership experience (at work preferably) or otherwise at EC, but you must STAND OUT some way.
Your goals are very different from what you have done (not sure which roles do you intend to work in post your MBA), but if you are taking a complete different shift from your existing skill set, you have to be very strong in your essays with WHY and HOW in your essays for the change that you are proposing as your post MBA goal.
Hope this helps
