Honestly, in the top 15-20, any school you like is good for you. I mean, yes there are schools which "specialize in finance", but it's a pretty standard MBA industry and any program can get you what you need - so I would also think about other things - lice location, size, etc. etc. In the NE Sloan, Booth (is that NE? well, close enough), NYU, Johnson all make sense.

As for the GMAT, don't bother. You have your 710, getting a few points higher won't change much. Volunteering more can be nice, esp. if its a weakness in your app. Best thing you can do - get promoted! :) (is this possible?)

Jon, thanks so much for your insight, I really appreciate it. In my prior 2 jobs I was promoted (received a 3rd year analyst promote, then in second job was promoted to associate). There's the possibility to be promoted for a 3rd year associate position where I am now, but wouldn't this also be slightly negative since I would be 29 when applying (I'll be 28 this fall)?

Nah, don't worry about it dude. Why would a promotion be negative?? Are you worried about your age? 29 is totally fine. Lots of people apply at 29. The average for most schools is 26-27, so you are pretty much normal.
