My Gre score in past was 1290 which converts to 640 GMAT. All these university accept GRE scores.
I am trying for GMAT again if higher score will increase my chances to get admission. I can only apply in
october with new scores so not sure how much last rounds will effect the chance of scholarships and admission

I am 27 yo :) Female currently in my final year of PhD in Molecular Biology . I am aiming these three schools
1)Ivey
2)Queens
3)Rottman

Currently in Phd final year at Canadian University.
3 publication in well known journal
GPA:3.8 /4in PhD
9.4 /10 in Bachelor

Certification in Innovation in Health care from Harvard University (online)
An introduction to innovation in health care ventures for those interested in entrepreneurial opportunities in health care technology, management, consulting, or investing.
Project:
Business plan on health innovation with a team.

Extra Circular
Red cross Canadian Disaster management team member
vice president of University student body
worked with Global cancer concern india which for financial support to children from cancer-affected families.

Exp:
none in corporate environment
4 year as Research assistant at University ( not sure if it will count)

Hi there,

Thanks for posting. Sounds like you are definitely planning a GMAT test soon if I am understanding correctly? That could help, and be sure to prep thoroughly! So no work experience yet, outside of when you were studying for your masters and PhD? May I ask why you are aiming for the MBA? That would be the immediate question/reaction of an admissions officer.. to feel out if this is the right path for you. Happy to try to help further when I can best understand that. Good luck!

My GMAT is scheduled for June end. I have one year of experience in INDIA where I saw need of innovations in Health care and decided to go for PhD to get exposure to technology and science.

I want to make career in consultancy on healthcare side. I believe its one of most untapped area. Health care is 3 trillion industry in US which is equal to GDP of china. Counting just two countries india and china where there is huge demand for more efficient system to cater million. This is one of the reason, I took online certification in Harvard for innovation in health care. where I worked on Health care business plan with a team of engineers and management people. I believe MBA will give me better perspective in understanding the need and implementation of new innovation in Health sector.

Thanks for some additional info. Depending on your GMAT, I would think with a strong application you would have a shot at the schools you have mentioned. You have various examples where you can likely draw from to cite leadership experience too, including your VP of your class position. Still the limited amount of actual work experience could be a drawback. Be sure you really speak to your short vs long-term post-MBA career goals and how you see your career developing, and demonstrate that NOW is the right time for the MBA, and that you truly need it, and that you've done at least some research into how you can use the MBA immediately.
