Hi Jon, Thanks for your reply.

Please find my response below
1. Where are you now?
Presently I am deputed in Sydney, Australia

2. What are your goals?
i. Short Term – I want to move to FMCG from my current IT/Telecommunication background
ii. Long term (another 8-10 years) - I want to build a good network in Indian FMCG market, want to start an enterprise in my home town focusing on supplying goods to consumer/FMCG market. Just to give you a little background, I belong to one of the most underestimated places in India, I guess we have capability to contribute but there is a gap between end users and the producers.

3. Why only Indian MBA programs?
Couple of reasons – firstly my goal requires me to understand Indian market, I think an Indian MBA degree from a Top tier business school will give me an entry to the field
Secondly having spent so many years away from home I want to spend rest of my time in India, understand the market and try my ideas in India
But I am not averse to business schools outside India

4. Can you give a more detailed outline of your work experience? (Job title, employer, info about main achievements and leadership?)
Job title – Test Manager
Employer – One of the Top 3 Indian IT Company
Leadership –
• Have been responsible for project delivery across OSS/BSS and customer experience domains (my team’s budget – 300k- 3 Million dollars, overall project budget – 2 Million- 30 Million dollars)
• Have led a team of 10-20 onshore and offshore engineers, I am responsible for team management, goal settings for team, performance appraisal of the team etc.
• Accountable for project Test delivery, budgeting, forecasting, resourcing etc.
• Have represented test team in steering committee meetings, stakeholder review meeting, overall account level meeting etc.
Achievements
• Have been a top performer throughout my career
• Have received multiple commendation and awards from customer/within organization for successful project delivery

I have another query, as I mostly work with customer at customer's location will it be advisable to take recommendations from customers?

Soooo the tough thing here is that the really good schools in India are the ones that can get you where you want to be given your goals. You should probably be keeping your eyes open to other Asian schools (China, HK and Singapore) as the regional advantage might also fit into your goals and you would likely be more competitive there.

I DO totally understand your desire to return to India, but that's a choice you probably have to make independent of a consultant :)

Otherwise, your work experience seems quite good - you have a lot of REAL leadership which is awesome, good international experience, and so on.

Just that GMAT is a sticky point - which brings me to think that you might want to consider retaking - because if you can hit a 710+ then the Indian schools become reasonable,

What do you think?

You might want to take a gander at this post here: https://admissionado.com/mba/resources/t ... -the-gmat/

Best,
