Indian.
GMAT: 700
B.E. in Computers
Work experience: 21 months: Though I started as a software developer I quickly transitioned to lead a team for a crucial project, EMIR, for my dutch client at TCS.
9 months: Dy- Manager - Credit (Project Finance) at DHFL (3rd largest housing finance company in India) : Involved in high ticket wholesale lending proposals with each ticket size upwards of $20m.
Community work as a volunteer teaching school kids but have now stopped it since I didn't really find it challenging enough.

I am a re-applicant. Applied to almost all major B-schools last year. Looking to get into the top 15-20 US B-schools. Need to apply in the coming year (2016) in the R1. I was fascinated by impact investing (II) and thus focused on the same for my short term goals and the long-term goal was starting II funds for micro-enterprises. Maybe I am young enough for those kind of roles? How can I work towards making a competitive profile? And what avenues should I pursue towards developing leadership roles in the society?

Hey good sir!
Thanks for writing, but if you want a full evaluation I need more info from you!

Where did you go to school? What were your grades? Your extra curricular activities? Do you have any leadership experience? What? What about volunteer wok? What was your role at work? And your title? And your greatest achievements?

You can either write more info here, or drop us a line here and fill out a questionnaire for a free consultation: https://bit.ly/mbafcGC

Best,
Jon

Hey there!

So first of all thanks for dropping by.

You may want to start your own thread so that you can track answers easier.

But let me start by saying: whoooooa! Maybe you should slow down a bit?

Two years is not usually enough experience for an MBA unless you are coming from a big banking or consulting firm. It doesn't mean it's the wrong decision. I mean you may have some really good personal reason or professional ones, but it's something to think about. But basically, you should have more in the range of FOUR years by the time you matriculate.

As for whether or not you should retake your GMAT, it depends on several things, and I would refer to this post here, written up by one of our guys: https://bit.ly/B613Mgc

Best,
Jon
