Profile evaluation

Question

Hi! My first post. I am mechanical engineering graduate and have 5 years of work experience. I graduated from National Institute of Technology, Warangal, a reasoanbly decent Engineering school in India. After graduation, I started on the shop-floor as a Production Engineer and worked for the first three years in that capacity.

For the last 2 years, I have been working in mechanical-design field. Overall my experience has been largely in the technical side and I have virtually no managerial experience. My main motivation of pursuing MBA is that I want to take up managerial positions and additional responsibilities. This is my short term goal.

In the long term, if everything goes as per plan, I would like to start my own mechanical design company. I have 2 questions in this regard

(i) What are the best schools that will suit my profile and goals
(ii) For the schools that would best suit my profile, what is the GMAT score that I should be targeting.

Also since I am a complete novice to GMAT and would be shortly commencing my preparation, can experts in GMAT guide me on the best way to prepare for GMAT.
