Hello there,
I am targeting Top 25 MBAs in U.S, however, the early part of my college career is unimpressive.
I would love some advice regarding my profile.
*Profile:
1. Age: 31
2. College Career (2003 to 2010):
- Started my college year at Washington State Univ. 2.40 GPA with 62 credits. I failed few classes and retook them (2003 to 2006) "Unimpressive Part"
- Joined Army for couple years. (As a Translator/Secretary for Executive officers) (2006 to 2008)
- Returned and transferred to Bellevue Community College (Now Bellevue College), finishing with 3.54 GPA (30 credits) (2008 to 2009)
- Transferred and graduated from Seattle University with 3.11 GPA (92 Credits) with Finance Major (Ranked, by U.S News, Top 20 finance program in nation, 2009 to 2010)
3. Post College Career (2011 to Present)
- Started my career as Feasibility Analyst and Brand Retail Consultant at food retail company in Korea
- Positioning as Team Leader at Brand Innovation Team at food franchise company. (Family Business)
*Total full-time working experience
= over 6 years (2 years in Army before graduation / 4 years post-grad)

Current Preparing for MBA:
1. Targeted School:
- UCLA, USC, Cornell, UW, Georgetown
2. Target GMAT score:
- over 700
As I mentioned above, the early part of my college career is very disappointing.
I'm sure I have to explain clearly through the interview and the essay, but.....
Q#1. how badly will my GPA hurt my chance to admit to the targeted schools that I listed above?
Q#2. and with my GPA, what are the chances to admit with under 700 GMAT score? (maybe from 650 to 700 range)
Q#3. Should I take a couple of masters-level classes? and try to get all As?
(I'm looking at online masters-level classes from Boston Univ or NYU or Indiana Univ. Focusing on Marketing and Accounting Classes)

Hello! Happy to share some advice on your profile.
So yes the "unimpressive" college performance will be a challenge for you but I think it's an addressable one. Keep in mind that your GPA is just one number on your application, there are so many other components to how the schools evaluate you. And in some ways, having more recent evidence of your abilities and strong performance (like the GMAT, work performance) can be more important. You will definitely need to write an Optional Essay about your college grades, I think the fact that you took two years off to join the Army will help, as you can reflect on how you grew and matured during that time. Your ending GPA is still below the average for the schools you list, I think most are in the 3.3-3.5 range. So, other ways to address this are exactly what you're thinking about...
1) Get a high GMAT, ideally 700, if not then as close to the school's average, which for most of the schools you list is in the 680-690 range. I think a 650 score will make UCLA a real stretch but not as much for the others.
2) Take additional courses to supplement your transcript. These should ideally be from accredited programs where you get a grade (and yes, getting A's is pretty important). There are some good online options like the ones you list, I also often recommend UCLA's extension courses online. You can also take them at local community colleges if you prefer in-person. Generally more quantitative subjects are good to take like Accounting, Stats, Calculus, Finance...Marketing too assuming your post-MBA career goals relate to that.
Having international work experience will help you, plus I like the fact that you've worked at a family business, that often leads to interesting challenges that make for good stories. Hopefully you have some extracurriculars or activities/passions outside work that show you're a driven and multidimensional person.
