Hi there!
Being an older applicant can be tough, but it's not impossible! See here:
https://www.mbamission.com/blog/2016/08 ... -school-2/. And it sounds like you have good reasons for why you need a full-time MBA at this point.
Without knowing your GPA / academic stats, nor your GMAT, it's really hard to advise on your competitiveness at specific schools. But you can take a look at the class profiles of different schools and see what the age range is. A lot of programs in Europe (e.g., LBS, IMD, HEC Paris, Oxford) tend to skew older. Some US programs where we've had success with older applicants include: Sloan, Booth, Ross, Tuck, UCLA, Columbia, Wharton, Foster, Babson. There are also some accelerated options that can work well like Cornell's 1 year program, MIT Sloan Fellows, or Duke's Cross-Continent MBA (which gives you a very global network), so check out some of those options too.
Do some initial research and narrow down your list to 4-6 schools that range from stretch to safety. You may also want to check out our school selection guide for other factors to consider:

Hi,
Based the following details, request you to guide me on the colleges I should consider both in the US and Europe and the likelihood of them being open to a candidate over 34 years of age.
1) I completed my graduation in psychology in 2003 and was a gold medalist.
2) I have 12 years work experience in advertising and marketing in India. My marketing experience has been in grocery retail
3) I want to pursue a full time MBA at this point since so much has changed from when I began working. Also I want to shift from Marketing communication to a more consulting role and i also am keen to explore the life science and health sector. I am also looking to gain global experience and want to work in countries other than India
4) I am preparing for GMAT. My IELTS score is 8.5
5) I have worked 1 year with an NGO and contribute to the social sector from time to time.
Looking forward to your advice as well as tips on aspects that I should highlight to make my application stronger..
Cheers,
Ashwini
