I'll be applying to B-schools this summer for entrance in 2018 august. Post MBA I hope to work at a management consultancy firm for a while before ultimately starting my own venture. Please find below the summary of my profile. I'd be obliged if you could evaluate my chances.

-Indian male, 26 years age at time of application
-GMAT 760
-B. Tech, Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur (9.1/10), 2014
Academic excellence awards
Elected member of student senate, part of organisation team of university technical festival, student guide, placement cell core team member
-Internship, Schlumberger, India (Jun'13-Jul'13)
-Field Engineer Trainee, Schlumberger, India (10 months, Aug'14-June'15)
Received 11 weeks training at company facility in Abu Dhabi
Led teams of 4 at oil rigs for various oil and gas clients in India providing drilling and measurement services
Received appreciation letter from client
-Field Engineer, Schlumberger, India (12 months, July'15 to June'16)
Received 2 week training on high-volume drilling and measurement technology at company facility in USA
Only person with formal training in high volume technology in India
Led the effort for successful application of high-volume technology in India, through training personnel, service quality interventions and operational support
Assisted the Field Service manager for North East India with tool and personnel planning and client interfacing for project involving operations at over 10 oil rigs
-Senior Associate at a non-profit organisation advising the largest national political party in India on strategy for assembly elections at the largest state in India (Aug'16-present)
Led a team of five in conceptualising and building a volunteer organisation premised on support for the party's national leader/face. Current strength of the organisation is about 1.6 million pan India (about 25 at each zip code level in the state) and growing. Volunteers used for spreading party's agenda and conducting door-to-door campaign during state elections apart from other activities
Part of a five-member team that set-up and ran operations at the election war-room at the party headquarter in the state.
Coordinated efforts with the party's state vice-president for setting up teams at each of the 0.14 million polling booths in the state
Assisted in scheduling campaigns in different regions of the state based on analysis of key parameters
Prepared a customised playbook for each of the 403 candidates in the state, with advisory on different central and local campaigns along with various constituency specific data
Embedded in a battleground district with 7 constituencies during the last leg of the campaign to assist the candidates' campaign team
I can't state the result of the election on this forum since that would divulge the party's identity. We are currently devising strategy for upcoming elections in another state

Should get LORs from my current direct manager and my direct manager from Schlumberger. Before college I earned a senior diploma in tabla (classical Indian music instrument) with distinction. Apart from this not much on the extra curricular front. Both my jobs required long working hours all 7 days of the week.

I am planning to apply to Harvard, Columbia and Yale for entry in August'18. Thanks in advance.

Hi amritmba13

Thanks for getting in touch! I highly recommend that you set up a free consultation with us -- see the link in my signature below. On the surface, you've got some great stats. Great GMAT and great GPA and school. Also, a great employer on your resume. This will help your candidacy. But your challenge may be that you are one of many engineers applying from India. Based on this, I highly recommend making sure all your applications are in in R1 (first mover advantage) and that you broaden your school selection. I know that can be hard for people to consider but I'd love for you to have some safer (but still great) options. At the HBS and CBS level, specifically, it's going to be pretty tough. (And remember, if you're dinged, it's usually not because of *you* but rather that they just have so many amazing people to choose from.) Try adding schools like Stern or Ross or Fuqua. And while I would *never* call Wharton a safety school, great stats like yours may be appealing so it's worth looking into.

I hope that helps!
