Hello all
I am writing this post for advice on how i should go on with my career. My profile is as follows-
Nationality: Indian
Age:21
10th grade: 94%
12th grade: 93.5%
Undergraduate cgpa: 7.77/10
Branch: Automotive engineering
Internships:
1) Market research analyst intern ( 6 months)
2) Stock market analyst intern ( 3 months)
3) Internship at a major automotive plant ( 2 months)
Achievements:
1) Published a fiction book previous year and also undertook actively in promoting it on the social media. I managed several social media pages and created a website for my book apart from getting appearing in few interviews on sites related to writing.
2) I'm currently finishing my second fiction to be published shortly.
I wish to work for few years ( graduated this year) and would try to do my best on GMAT. Can anybody advise me what score should i target in GMAT to get an admission at decent universities abroad. I am interested in marketing and consulting areas.

Hi Spyder,
It is really good to see candidates getting pro active so early in their career cycle. Yes you should work right now at least for 2 years and ideally for 5 years to get into top business schools. Keep yourself involved in community service and demonstrate leadership abilities where ever you can. As for GMAT the higher the better, with 700+ in your mind. Hope this helps.

Well you have a very interesting profile for anyone- and especially for a 21 year old. I agree that you should work a few years- but you might still have time to consider some of the recent grad options to apply for MBA now but defer for a few years to work before starting. UVA (Darden) has an option where you can apply by August if you were a 2017 grad. Hard to say a definite score you need for GMAT but Indian applicants do best in the US application process with GMAT scores at 730+. That's not to say everyone has that, but the higher you go, the more you get a closer look. But even a 770 won't guarantee admission if you don't have the compelling work or reason why you want your MBA - it is the whole package.
