Profile Evaluation

Hey guys,
I'm requesting a profile evaluation as I plan to apply to my selected MFin programs in R1.
Area of Study: Accounting
Cumulative GPA: 2.9/4.0
Major GPA: 3.3/4.0
Business GPA: 3.5/4.0
I had a rough first couple of years in biology, but do not have any Fs on my transcript. I do have Ws for a couple of semesters due to medical issues I was dealing with. Since getting my medical issues under control, I have maintained As/Bs for 5 straight semesters (plus multiple summer sessions where I got nothing less than all As), have been an active member in Beta Alpha Psi, where I function as Candidate Representative, was in charge of recruiting for our Beta Alpha Psi chapter's VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program, and was a peer-tutor for student athletes in the subjects of accounting and finance (referred to the tutoring center by the accounting department at my university). This past semester, I took part in an internship at a local CPA firm, where I functioned as an Audit Intern during tax season. Side note - my quantitative courses are mostly As. I have also done some online courses covering DCF modeling if that counts.
I have a solid reference from a faculty member (a previous Big 4 Audit Manager and VP at a large energy company) who is also an MBA grad from one of my desired programs (Tulane) and am able to seek out more if necessary.
In regards to the GMAT, I'm enrolled in the EMPOWERgmat course for 3 months over the summer to try and get my GMAT score up as much as possible (I'm one week in at this point).
The following programs are of high interest to me, because I am targeting energy finance in Texas.
Tulane (Freeman) MFin
University of Texas - Dallas (McCombs) MSF
Louisiana State University (Ourso) MFin
My top choice is UT, then Tulane, and my backup is LSU. How hard will it be to overcome this low GPA and what kind of GMAT score do I need (I'm thinking >660, but I don't know)? Do I even have a chance at UT? I don't want to waste time applying if my chances are low. I understand it's hard to tell without a GMAT score, but I will be studying hard for the next 3 months, so I feel confident I can score >650.
Thanks for the help!
