Hello guys,

I plan to apply next year in R1 at Wharton/Chicago/Columbia/Stern/Kellog/MIT (2020 Intake)

Background and nationality : Spanish (Male)

Undergrad Information : 2.8 GPA BSc Industrial Engineering in a top 5 national university and 1year - academic exchange in Best Latam University (University of Sâo Paulo).

Age: 25 by the age of the application

GMAT: 720+ expected (let's take this assumption)

Work experience and leadership:
half a year of work experience at Vodafone Group as a Operations Engineer (Project manager)
3 Years of work experience at Deloitte (Strategy & Operations ):
Promoted each year with almost the best recognition
Led teams since my 2nd year (was a Project leader in charge of 2 people)

Community and others:
Involved in different clubs in both my main university and University of Sâo Paulo (consulting club, alumni, women-empowerment, mentor of international applicants)
3 Years of various community service initiatives through Deloitte. (I'm captain of soccer team)

Post MBA goals:
Ideally my goal is to focus primarily in consulting (MBB) in Consumer Goods industry. I'd like to work in the States, but I know now being native suppose a big disadvantage.

I speak English, Spanish, French and Portuguese, and I'm really commited with social impact, recently i've been involved in a local org.

According to my target schools,

Which are my possibilities?

Thanks in advance,

A 720 would be a solid score & it looks like you have some solid work experience as well. I'm assuming you are currently at Deloitte? If you left to go to Vodafone that is going to make it tougher to make an argument that you want to do consulting post-MBA. A 2.8 GPA is quite low for a top school & although a 720 & strong work experience will help compensate for it that is going to be one weakness in your application. Can you give any strong justification for why it was so low (having to work your way through school, a family or personal illness, etc?)

In general based on the info you shared here I'd say you have a shot at top 20-25 schools. If you can get Deloitte to sponsor you & shift your goals to a post-MBA role there that will increase your chances & I'd say it would be more like top 15. Schools like to see applicants who are being sponsored since it's great for their employment stats & having a corporate sponsor also goes a long way in terms of vouching for you.
