I'm planning to applying for MBA this fall. I will have 6 years of work experience when I enter class. I'm planning to continue working in tech or consumer product company after MBA.

3.7 GPA from a top US undergrad business program
3 years in a top 5 management consulting firm
3 years in a high growth tech company in the Silicon Valley
700 on the GMAT (much high verbal than quant) - I have taken the GMAT a few times and couldn't get my score higher than the first time I took it. At this point, I think it's more important for me to work on my story but open to feedback.
Good essay writer
Don't need visa in the US

Target programs:
Kellogg
MIT
Berkeley
Wharton

Would be great to have a bit more detail about you (demographics, undergrad GPA, and a bit more about post-MBA career goals) but just based on what you shared here I think you have a shot at these schools assuming you can highlight a few stories in your app that show that you've driven meaningful results at work. If you are by chance an Indian male engineer (even if you are a US citizen) that will make things a bit tougher since that is the most competitive demographic when it comes to b-school apps & also one that tends to have very high GMATs for these schools (740+), tech backgrounds (so tougher to make your Silicon Valley experience stand out) and tech-focused post-MBA goals (again making your goals a bit more common if you do decide to go the tech route). If you are not from that demographic, your GMAT is still a bit on the low end for these schools but not out of range & you can compensate for it via the other parts of your application - again, assuming strong impact at work.

I would be sure to narrow down your career goals. Once you write your essays you'll want to decide on either tech or a consumer product company (do you mean CPG or consumer electronics?), naming 2-3 target firms and the specific title you want in the ST & LT. Your whole argument for why you need the MBA rests on these goals, which is why it's super important to be specific. The adcom wants to see a laser-sharp focus & does not want to hear that you'll figure it out in b-school. :) Likewise, you want to speak to WHY these are your goals & the impact you plan to have (in other words, the changes you want to drive, problems you want to solve, etc).

So like I said, it's difficult to give you more specific direction without knowing more about you but long story short I think you have a shot at these schools for sure - but it may be a good idea to round out your list a bit as well with some slightly lower ranked schools (10-15) given your GMAT. Hope that helps & good luck to you!
