Hi there,
I’d be really grateful if you could evaluate my profile and give me some useful advice for my application.
I’m applying for the mim at the following universities:
Sankt Gallen, LBS, HEC.
I’m 21, Italian and in July I’ll graduate from my bachelor in mangement engineering with a 3.9 gpa. My university is ranked as the first private best university for engineering in Italy.
My biggest weakness is the gmat. My current gmat is 550 which in 5 months I wasn’t able to improve even tough practice tests from Kaplan and
Manhattan prep say I should score between 650 and 700.
Work experience:
one full time internship (200 hours) in an industry in Spain.
One full time work experience always in Spain (200 hours).
As for now I’m applying to an internship at Credit Suisse in Zurich for the period that goes from March to August.
Extracurricular activities: community service at an Orphanage+active member of a student association at university.
I speak fluently English (ielts 7) and Spanish.
As for now I’ve been studying French for 6 months and German for one month. I’m planning on getting certifications by the end of this summer.
I know that sometimes even top Bschools accept low gmats but I also know that those candidates are very outstanding.
Do you think my gpa and my work experience make up for the low gmat?
I’ll appreciate any useful advice!
Posted from my mobile deviceThanks for writing in.
Frankly, there is a lot working for you besides your GMAT score; that said, the GMAT is a very important component and while it can be compensated for to an extent, it cannot be compensated for entirely. 550, we are afraid, is fairly low.
We strongly recommend that you re-take the GMAT. A better score, along with a set of well-written essays, which speak of your strengths and focus on how you will utilize the MiM learning to achieve your career goals, will give you a good chance.
Thank you.
