Hi 1sh4n,
Great GMAT score! Important for you since I agree your GPA is a bit lower than I'd like to see. There will be other applicants who will have managed to balance both extra-curricular activities and challenging academics, so try to emphasize your heavy involvement and impact in those activities where possible. The MBB name will help your chances too.
Based on the info you provided, I think you have the makings of a strong application to those schools, but keep in mind that Harvard and Stanford are especially difficult. The deferred admissions channels are actually a bit more selective, so if you don't make it through, I would still give those schools a shot later.
Also if it doesn't work out to go the deferred route, think some more about the timing. You can apply in more than 2 years, and waiting til you have 3 or 4 years experience will put you more on par with the rest of the class, and also give you more time to build up your leadership experience, and potentially gain some international exposure too (which these schools value).
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Kate

Hi,
I am an Indian engineering senior, at a top 10 engineering college in India.
I just took the GMAT a few days back and scored a 760 (Q49 V44 IR8).
My GPA is ~7.7, which causes me a bit of concern. The lower GPA is due to the fact that I focused more on extra-curricular activities in school.
I have interned with one of the MBB consulting firms, and I currently have a job offer from another one of the MBB.
Will I have a realistic shot at schools like Harvard/Stanford/Booth/Columbia/Wharton if I work for the next two years and apply? (I'm also applying to a few of these schools right now via the deferred admission channel, are the odds of me getting through higher right now than if I apply later?)
