Work experience
- 25 South European (Italian). 2 years in top consulting firm (McKinsey), sponsored for MBA because of distinctive performance. Additional 1 year work experience in different sectors (top legal firm, public sector..) internships, as well as research assistant for PhDs
Education
- 2 degrees completed simultaneously (law & economics) in top school of the country. Avg GPA ~7.5/10 ~top 15/20% for two-degree students. Several leadership roles taken during college (first time winner of my university of big international consulting competition - team captain-), student council
- GMAT targeting 720+
Extracurricular
- Active member of LGTB comunity (coordinator -volunteer- of legal affairs in big refugee NGO specialized in LGTB issues)
- Also dedicated months to volunteering with children at risk of social exclusion
- 4 languages

Had to part-time work to fund studies. First in my family graduating from college

How do you see my odds? Is it a ~strong profile or will I need a miracle for some of these schools?

Great profile, for sure. It's unclear to me whether your "additional 1 year work experience" was full time or internships, but assuming it's full time, and you have 3 years of experience under your belt, you have a compelling background. Of course, having a big brand (McKinsey) on your resume is a great thing, especially with a promotion, which is great evidence of solid work performance. Tough to say how your GPA will translate to a US 4.0 scale without knowing the specific university (different schools have different scales, which can make translation difficult) but since you're in the top 15% that's a good sign.
Assuming your GPA translates well, and you obtain your target GMAT score, you seem to have a compelling profile worthy of top schools. Obviously, I'd have a lot of questions for you to dig further, but given what you've shared here, and assuming you put together a top-notch quality application and essays, I certainly think you have every reason for optimism. I don't believe you'd need a "miracle", just a strong strategy and a great application to really showcase your strengths and differentiating features.

You've definitely got a good shot at these schools. Your GPA is a bit on the low end, and while a 720 is a solid score, it's not a differentiator, especially when you need to outweigh a slightly low GPA. If you can score 740+ that would make a difference for sure. On the plus side, having McKinsey on your resume is golden, the fact that you come from the LGBTQ community & have done work there will add to class diversity as will the fact that you're Italian. You should be solidly competitive at UCLA and although HBS & GSB will definitely be in the stretch category (as they are for the vast majority of candidates) assuming some strong essays & LORs you have a shot at it there as well as at other top ten schools.
