Great to hear about your promotions! And your goals are logical. Harvard and Stanford are extremely competitive, but I wouldn't say they're completely out of reach, especially if you are able to score a 720+ on GMAT.

Thanks!

StoicBread
I have been promoted two times (consultant 2 and senior consultant) in the last three years. Big 4 promotions are more or less automatic as long as your perform.

As far as career goals, I would like to transition from tax consulting to strategy consulting. I have a long list of reasons but simply put, I want to be involved in front-end strategy as opposed to revisiting past decision making. My personality thrives on strategic planning and competition, and long-term, I feel as though I will be more satisfied in both my personal life and career if I make the transition.

Lastly, if my GMAT scores are in my projected range, should I be applying to Stanford and Harvard? I.e. would my application have a chance or would I be wasting time and money? As mentioned, Tuck is my target school, but I would like to keep my options open.

Yes, of course. I suppose I will have to ultimately make a decision whether or not to apply. MBB is my end goal, so what school I go to specifically does not matter as much to me as the MBB recruitment rate at each school.

Thank you for your time!
