Hi Abhinavwalia19,
Based on the basic info that you have provided, there are some great positives to your profile, You attended a top tier university in India and have 6 years of work experience, which would be 7 by the time you attend, which is average/above average # of years for your target schools. Your experience in IoT is at the forefront of technology and when combined with top notch LOR's, you should be competitive with the other applicants on this front. The challenging part of your profile is that your GPA and GMAT scores are lower than most of the schools on your list. In addition, being a male Indian national working in tech will unfortunately be a challenge for you to differentiate yourself. There will be other applicants with your background with higher GPA's and GMAT scores, and also great work experiences and LOR's.
Based on the info you provided, I believe that a compelling application that includes essays that really highlight your leadership skills and experiences, along with an ambitious yet attainable long term goal, that you can differentiate yourself and be competitive for most of the targeted programs. Stern, and especially Kellogg, will be the two reach schools. My advice is to focus on what you can at this point, which is your essays and LOR's, to offset the low GPA and GMAT score. If there are extenuating circumstances for the low GPA, such as illness or death in the family, you can definitely explain in the application. If you have time, I would also recommend retaking the GMAT to see if you can attain a higher score. While it won't be a dealbreaker if the rest of your application is stellar, it's one less variable the adcom would have to justify to admit you.
Hope this helps and good luck!
Best,
Cindy
