Question

I need someone to look at my profile.

Engineering from one of the top colleges in India - BITS Pilani (GPA of 7.55)
10th and 12th percentage: 88% and 85% respectively.

Total work experience: 5.5 yrs in consulting and private equity. Working as Senior Chief Manager in ICICI Bank (Reporting to Head - Strategic Investments of the Bank and super-reporting to Executive Director of the Bank) Looking after strategic investments and digital strategy of the largest private sector bank in India. Some amount of global exposure in terms of working on 2 foreign private equity deals.

3 internships - One in the Manufacturing industry (Bosch) for 6 months, other in the pharmaceutical industry (for 2.5 months), and the other one in oil & gas refinery.

Extra-curricular activities:
Tutored students on online platforms like Chegg, InstaEdu
Led regional associations during my graduation
Help technology startups in their business expansion

Nationality: Indian
Sex: Male

GMAT Score: Yet to attempt

Goal of MBA: Venture Capital and Consulting (my current field)

Target Schools: R2 Wharton, Stanford, LBS, Insead

Can anyone look at my profile and evaluate and also give suggestions over Target Score.

Hi deep31993 , Thanks for reaching out to us at mbaMission. Overall your profile looks strong, especially working in a high-level role at a large bank and with some cross-cultural exposure too. The internships and older extracurriculars will be less relevant but still nice to have. The tech startup work is interesting, especially as it relates to your goals in VC. VC can be a tough field to break into, so you may want to position that as a longer term goal. I am familiar with BITS Pilani and it being a top program. For top US programs, many successful admits will have GPAs above 8, or even 9. A high GMAT is important for you and thus I would aim for 750+ (for Wharton / Stanford). Also keep in mind that Stanford is the most selective program in the world, so it may be a reach no matter your score

Hi thanks for evaluating the same. Just wanted to clarify that I am already working in the venture capital field from 5+ years. Thanks for the suggestion on GMAT score. Yes I am targeting 750 atleast in my exam. But in the current mocks I am scoring 720. Let's see.

Btw. would my experience in the private equity, tech startups, consulting would help let's say if I do not score 750?

Though I aim to score more than 750, but just wanted to get that checked.

You gave advice for Wharton and Stanford, bit how about for LBS and Instead, though?

Hi again, 
Got it, I thought your experience was PE & consulting not VC. In that case, VC should be doable post MBA but make sure you have clear reasons for why you need an MBA / what gaps you need to fill, since you already have experience in the space. Your experience does sound strong and should help, but in general the PE / consulting space is highly represented in the applicant pool, and applicants tend to do well on the GMAT too. For LBS and INSEAD, a higher score will still maximize your chances, though I think a 730 would be a reasonable target if you were focusing on those schools.
