Q: So what do you think about my profile? Does it make sense to target these schools? Harvard/Wharton/Booth?

A: You have an interesting profile. The "diversity" argument could be valid but to pull it off you will have to come up with a clear and cohesive narrative and not just an amalgamation of different experiences. Your age (34 at matriculation) is a significant handicap. That does not mean you are disqualified from applying or will be automatically dinged, but I want you to be aware that it could have implications for your chances at top programs that tend to skew younger. In all honesty, Harvard/Wharton/Booth are going to be really difficult even with your strong test scores. You should apply but have other options on your list.

Q: And with regards to a full ride, which lower-ranked schools do you think might give me a full-ride or close to it?

A: Full rides are rare and difficult to obtain. You would have to look at schools that ranked no higher than 15, probably closer to 20 or lower. If you get in anywhere enticing and get partial money, you can always apply for outside scholarships to help defray the costs. Your test scores will definitely help in this respect!

Admissionado By the way, what do you mean by the outside scholarship? Just last question. :)

Third-party scholarships that are not affiliated with the school. There are many scholarships provided by external organizations that can be used towards financing your MBA.

If you poke around you should be able to find those for which you qualify. Keep in mind, these deadlines creep up so don't wait too long.

Good luck!
