Hi
Shikhin ! Thanks for reaching out to Stratus and for sharing some of your story with us. Answers to your questions below:
What are my chances of conversion for target colleges with scholarship.
You're targeting some solid schools for your stats, but Indian/m/engineering and computer science/710 GMAT is admittedly a crowded space. I'd say scholarships are unlikely unless you had some very compelling leadership or side hustle going on outside of work.
What are the colleges that I can add to this list.
Have you considered McCombs, Emory, or McDonough? Those could all be great target schools for you, as they work well with your post-MBA goals.
Will there be negative impact given the gap in work experience and can it be covered by showing participation in family business and volunteer work.
It'll be very critical for you to connect the dots for the adcom in your essays. Depending on how well you pull it off, it could be a great story, or a red flag.
How can I improve my profile.
I think at this point, it's less about adding more to your profile, and more about helping the adcom make sense of the story--the pivot from computer science/engineering to consulting and then finance, as well as the gap in work experience.
Storytelling is often the biggest reason folks reach out to consultants, there's an art to getting it right. If you want to reach out for a free consult, I or anyone on our Stratus team would be glad to explain more about the steps you should be taking to get to your best applications! I see some great, unique elements in your profile. Connecting the dots of your past and where you want to go in your future will determine how much the AdCom want to invest in that story.
