Hello,
I have done UG in Physiotherapy, female, 3.84/4, 329 GRE - Indian.
I have experience working in an International Company as a tutor, and along with that, I have a healthcare startup - I have an experience of 1 year and five months, and till R2, it will be one year and seven months.
I have received a rejection from Upenn
I'm looking for a suggestion for BOOTH and Kellogg - what are my chances?
Post MBA - Consulting +scaling my startup
If not, which school is good for me
Hi,
A few things here:
1. your experience is less for the bschools you are targeting, and infact for most b-schools, Typically, most applicants apply with atleast 3-4 years experience, which is in line with the class average experience of 4 to 6 years at most business schools. Waiting a few years will help you build your profile and gain some work experience.
2. If you go by the advice above, retaking the GRE with an eye on a 330+ score would help.
3. Your UG education + work experience + and goals are not so well aligned and that would be a red flag in your application. You studied physiotherapy but are working as a tutor- is this related to your area of study? Is your healthcare startup related to your area of study? If not, how are your portraying your career graph and intended goals in the application? In your goals are you suggesting you will do consulting alongside running your startup? That would be highly improbable given how consuming consulting is as a career. If you say you will return to your startup after a few years of consulting, then does the startup have enough traction and success right now for that path to be viable?
4. Do you have any post UG extra curricular activities?
These are immediate questions which come to my mind on reading your profile description- it will help to get more clarity, however, my advice in top 2 points will still stick.
